Glyndwr's Way & Wye Valley Walking Holiday

Glyndwr's Way

We specialise in guided and self-guided inn to inn walking holidays on the Glyndwr's Way. The Glyndwr's Way is a spectacular celebration of beautiful Welsh scenery and history. Named after the famous Welsh rebel leader Owain Glyndwr, who in the early 15th century led an audacious, but ultimately ill-fated rebellion against English rule. This superb walk through some of the most stunning landscape in Wales visits many of the sites connected with his campaign for an independent Welsh nation.

This designated National Trail undulates through stunning green glacial valleys, thick, fragrant pine forests, pretty villages, beautiful lakes and farmland with stunning views of the Cambrian mountain range and beyond. Revel in a spectacular sunset over tranquil Lake Vyrnwy with its 33 arched dam and delight in the abundant bird life on view in this truly rich and diverse trail.

The walk is also bejewelled with significant historic treasures to enjoy such as vibrant Machynlleth, home of the first Welsh parliament after the rebellion against the English by Owain Glyndwr. The trail culminates in magnificent Powis Castle, just outside Welshpool, one of the finest properties in Wales, marking a fitting end to this wonderfully rich slice of Welsh culture and scenery.

Wye Valley

The Wye Valley Walk begins in the pretty castle town of Chepstow and undulates through the Wye Valley; a well deserved Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, to the slopes of Plynlimon in Mid Wales. This is a highly attractive and varied trail displaying some spectacular valley walks such as at Symonds Yat. The trail follows some gorgeous leafy riverside paths, through ancient woodland, fertile pastures, and features some particularly attractive towns such as Ross-on-Wye, Hay-on-Wye and Hereford.

We pride ourselves on sourcing quality country inns, hotels and guesthouses giving you the best rest and relaxation on offer before starting the walk each day. Your baggage will be transferred to the next accommodation en route allowing you time to fully enjoy the benefits of your surroundings.

Our guided walking holiday has the added benefit of an experienced, passionate walk leader with expertise and local knowledge of the trail.

The self-guided walking holidays offer an insightful and comprehensive guide littered with historic notes and tales to embellish your walking experience.
